Okay, so I’ve been messing around with mimosas lately, but not the “bottomless” kind you see at those fancy brunches. You know, where you pay one price and they just keep refilling your glass until you’re, well, sloshed.
I wanted to get that same vibe at home, but without the whole commitment to drink mimosas all day. And I definitely didn’t want to end up wasting a bunch of champagne and juice, So what did I do?
Trying different things out
First, I tried a big pitcher. I thought, “Hey, I can just make a big batch and pour it as I go.” I mixed up some champagne and orange juice in a pitcher, all measured out, not just eyeballing it. I even tossed in some orange slices to make it look all fancy. This worked okay, but the champagne got a little flat after a while.

- Big pitcher method
- Measured champagne and juice
- Added orange slices
Then, I had this wild idea to use sherbet. Yeah, you heard that right. Instead of juice, I scooped some orange sherbet into the glasses and topped it off with champagne. It was kinda like a dessert and a drink all in one. Pretty good, but a little too sweet for me for a morning drink. It is a good try, I love sherbet.
- Used sherbet instead of juice
- Scooped sherbet into glasses
- Topped with champagne
Going “virgin”
And then, it hit me. Why not just skip the alcohol altogether? So, I went for what they call a “virgin” mimosa. I grabbed some sparkling cider and mixed it with orange juice. This was actually my favorite. It was fizzy, refreshing, and I could drink it any time of day without feeling weird.
- Used sparkling cider
- Mixed with orange juice
- Enjoyed anytime
Just keeping it simple
Honestly, the simplest way was the best. I poured some orange juice into a glass and topped it with sparkling water. Boom. Done. It was bubbly, it was citrusy, and it didn’t take more than a minute to make. Plus, no sugar, no alcohol. I did it! I found a new way to make mimosas by myself!
- Poured orange juice into a glass
- Topped with sparkling water
- Quick and easy
So yeah, that’s my mimosa journey. No bottomless glasses, no complicated recipes, just some experimenting and a whole lot of bubbles. It’s way more fun to try things out and see what you like. Cheers!
