Cooking with Beef Tendon Strip: Get Tender Results Every Time!

Okay, so today I tried to make a beef tenderloin strip. I’ve never cooked this cut before, so it was a bit of an experiment. I’m going to walk you through what I did, from start to finish!

Getting Started

First, I grabbed the beef tenderloin strip from the fridge. It was already nicely packaged from the butcher, so that saved me some prep time. I took it out and let it sit on the counter for about 30 minutes. I heard somewhere that letting the meat come to room temperature helps it cook more evenly. Don’t know if it’s true, but I did it anyway!

Seasoning Time

Next up, seasoning! I’m a simple guy, so I kept it pretty basic. I patted the beef dry with some paper towels – this is supposed to help it get a good sear. Then, I generously rubbed it all over with:

  • Salt (lots of it!)
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • A little bit of garlic powder

Into the Pan!

I heated up a cast-iron skillet on the stove. I like cast iron because it gets super hot and holds the heat well. I added a good glug of olive oil to the pan and let it get nice and shimmering.

Once the pan was screaming hot, I carefully placed the beef tenderloin strip in. It sizzled like crazy! I let it sear for about 3-4 minutes on each side, until it had a beautiful brown crust. My kitchen started to smell amazing at this point!

Finishing in the Oven

After searing,I put the whole Skillet into the preheated oven.I did set up the oven before at 400,and baked about 15-20minutes.

Rest and Slice

After that,I took the Skillet out.I transfer the beef to a cutting board.I cover it with foil, and let it rest 10minutes.

Finally,I slice the * is so great!

That’s it! My first time making a beef tenderloin strip. Not too bad, if I do say so myself. It was a fun little cooking adventure, and I’ll definitely be trying this again, maybe with some different seasonings next time!
