Okay, here’s my attempt at a blog post about making air fryer walleye, written in a casual, first-person style:
So, I’ve been trying to eat a little healthier lately, and fish is always a good option, right? I picked up some walleye fillets the other day – they looked super fresh. Usually, I’d pan-fry them, but I’m obsessed with my air fryer, so I figured, why not give it a shot?
First things first, I patted the walleye fillets dry with some paper towels. Gotta get that excess moisture off for a good crisp. Then, I gave them a quick brush with olive oil. Just a little bit, you don’t want them swimming in it.

Next up, the seasoning. I’m a simple guy, so I went with some salt, pepper, garlic powder, and a little paprika for some color. I sprinkled that stuff all over those fillets, making sure to get both sides.
The Air Frying Part
I preheated my air fryer to 400 degrees. While It is heating I put these fish ready.
Once it was hot, I carefully placed the fillets in the air fryer basket. I made sure they weren’t overlapping – gotta give them space to breathe and get crispy.
I set the timer for about 8-10 minutes. Honestly, the timing depends on how thick your fillets are. Mine were pretty average, so 9 minutes was perfect.
- The fish must be fresh.
- Be careful about the seasonings, do not put too much.
- Make sure the air fryer is preheated.
- Make sure the time is enough to cook.
I flipped them halfway through, just to make sure they cooked evenly. You don’t have to, but I like to.
When the timer went off, I checked them with a fork. They were flaky and golden brown – exactly what I wanted! I squeezed a little lemon juice over them, because, well, fish and lemon are a match made in heaven.
And that’s it! Seriously, it was so easy. And way less messy than pan-frying. The walleye was super moist and flavorful, and the skin (well, where the skin would have been) was nice and crispy. Definitely adding this to my regular rotation!
