Okay, here’s my attempt at writing a blog post like a real person, documenting my experience with air frying frozen waffle fries:
So, the other day, I was craving waffle fries. You know, those crispy, criss-crossy good ones? But I didn’t want to go out, and honestly, deep frying is such a hassle. Then I remembered, “Hey, I have an air fryer!” And a bag of frozen waffle fries in the freezer. Perfect!
I grabbed that bag of frozen goodness and preheated my air fryer. I usually just punch in 400 degrees Fahrenheit – seems to work for most things. While it was heating up, I spread the fries out on a plate. Just wanted to make sure they weren’t all clumped together, you know? Gotta give them room to breathe and crisp up evenly.

My Little Experiment
Once the air fryer was ready (that little beep is so satisfying), I dumped the fries into the basket. Don’t overcrowd it! I did maybe a single layer, with a little bit of space between each fry. Then I set the timer. I guessed at 8 minutes, figuring I could always add more time if needed.
- 400°F (200°C) is my go setting.
- Start at 8 Minutes.
- Give it a Shake Halfway Through!
About halfway through, around the 4-minute mark, I pulled the basket out and gave it a good shake. This is key, people! Gotta make sure those fries are getting cooked on all sides. If you don’t shake ’em, you’ll end up with some crispy, some soggy, and nobody wants that.
After the 8 minutes were up, I took a peek. They looked pretty good, but I like my fries extra crispy. So, I popped them back in for another 2 minutes. And… perfection! Golden brown, crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. Just the way I like ’em.
I sprinkled a little salt on them (because, duh), and that was it! Seriously, so easy, and way less messy than dealing with hot oil. The air fryer is my new best friend for frozen snacks, for sure. I mean it’s quick, easy, no-fuss, and most importantly, tasty. Clean up was also fast, just rinsed and put away, done.
