Okay, here’s my attempt at a blog post sharing my “protein jello” experience, following your guidelines:
So I decided to try making protein jello. Yeah, you heard that right. I figured, why not combine my love for jello with a protein boost? Seemed like a good idea at the time.
First, I gathered all my stuff. I got some sugar-free jello mix, you know, to keep it somewhat healthy, and a tub of my usual vanilla protein powder. I also grabbed a whisk, a big bowl, and some boiling water.
I started by dumping the jello mix into the bowl. Then, I poured in the boiling water and whisked like crazy until all the jello was dissolved. It smelled pretty good, like fruity candy.
Next came the tricky part. I scooped in my protein powder, a little at a time, whisking it in with the jello mixture. I wanted to avoid clumps, so I tried to add it slowly. It took some effort to get it all mixed in smoothly. The mixture started to look a bit thicker and kind of opaque. I have to admit it didn’t look as pretty as regular jello, but, well, I kept going, hoping that it will get better.
Once everything was mixed, I poured it into a glass dish. I popped the dish into the fridge. The waiting game began. I checked it after an hour, but it was still pretty liquidy. The instructions I found online said to chill for at least 4 hours, so I just left it there.
- Mix jello with boiling water
- Add protein powder slowly, whisk well
- Pour into a dish, chill for 4+ hours
Finally, after what felt like forever, it was time to try it. I took the dish out of the fridge. It was definitely set, like regular jello. I grabbed a spoon and dug in.
The texture was… interesting. It was like jello, but a bit denser. The flavor was okay, you could taste the fruitiness from the jello mix, but the protein powder gave it a slightly chalky aftertaste. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t amazing either. I even added some whipped cream on top like someone on the internet recommended. It only made it a little bit better.
So, would I make protein jello again? Probably not. It was a fun experiment, but the taste and texture weren’t quite what I was hoping for. I’ll probably stick to my regular protein shakes from now on. But hey, at least I tried, right? And I got a decent amount of protein out of it. That’s gotta count for something, I guess.
