Okay, so today, I messed around with making mini tacos in my air fryer. I got this idea stuck in my head and just had to try it out. First off, I gathered all my stuff – some ground beef, taco seasoning, those little street taco tortillas, and some cheese. You know, the usual taco ingredients.
I started by browning the ground beef in a pan. While that was going, I sprinkled in the taco seasoning. I like mine with a good kick, so I wasn’t shy with the seasoning. Once the beef was all cooked and seasoned, I set it aside to cool just a bit.
Next, I took those cute little tortillas and started filling them up. I put a spoonful of the seasoned beef in each one and topped it with a good amount of cheese. I mean, who doesn’t love cheese, right?

Then came the tricky part – folding them. I folded each tortilla in half, making sure the filling was snug inside. They looked like tiny little taco pockets. I preheated my air fryer to about 370 degrees Fahrenheit. I figured that was a good temperature to get them crispy without burning.
Once the air fryer was ready, I carefully placed the mini tacos inside. I made sure not to overcrowd the basket because I wanted them all to cook evenly. It was a bit of a puzzle, fitting them all in there, but I managed.
- First batch: I set the timer for 5 minutes. When the timer went off, I checked on them. They were looking good, but I wanted them a bit crispier.
- Second batch: I put them back in for another 3 minutes. This time, they came out perfect. Golden brown and crispy, just how I like them.
After they were all cooked, I let them cool for a minute or two. I didn’t want to burn my mouth, even though they smelled amazing. Finally, I plated them up and added some sour cream, salsa, and a bit of cilantro on top. Because why not? It’s all about those finishing touches.
My Notes
- Total cook time: About 8 minutes at 370 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Keep an eye on them after the first 5 minutes. You might need to adjust the time depending on your air fryer.
- Don’t overcrowd the basket. It’s better to cook them in batches.
And that’s it! They turned out to be the perfect little snack. Super easy, super tasty, and a total win in my book. I’ll definitely be making these again. Maybe next time, I’ll try some different fillings. Chicken or maybe even some veggies. The possibilities are endless!
