Okay, so I saw this thing on the internet about cooking flounder in an air fryer and I thought, why not give it a shot? I mean, I love fish, and I’ve been trying to use my air fryer more often. So, yeah, I went for it.
First, I grabbed a couple of flounder fillets from the grocery store. They were pretty fresh, which is always a good start. I rinsed them under cold water and patted them dry with some paper towels. You gotta get rid of that excess water, you know?
Next, I seasoned the fillets. Nothing fancy, just some salt, pepper, and a bit of garlic powder. I like to keep it simple, especially when I’m trying something new. I drizzled a little bit of olive oil over the fish too, just to help it crisp up in the air fryer.

Then, I preheated my air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. While it was heating up, I lined the basket with a piece of parchment paper. This is kind of a lifesaver, it prevents the fish from sticking and makes cleanup way easier. Once the air fryer was hot, I placed the fillets in the basket, making sure they weren’t overlapping.
I cooked the flounder for about 8-10 minutes. The exact time can vary depending on the thickness of the fillets, so I just kept an eye on them. I was looking for that nice golden-brown color and flaky texture. And oh boy, the smell that filled my kitchen was amazing.
The Result
- The flounder came out perfectly cooked.
- It was crispy on the outside and tender and flaky on the inside.
- The seasoning was just right, not overpowering at all.
I served the air-fried flounder with a side of lemon wedges and some steamed veggies. It was a delicious and healthy meal, and I was pretty proud of myself for trying something new. I’ll definitely be making this again. It’s quick, easy, and the results are fantastic. If you have an air fryer and you like fish, you gotta try this!
It is such a successful try! The air fryer does it again! I mean I have tried chicken wings, french fries and some cookies with this machine, and now this flounder, it is really a must-have in the kitchen!
