Well, let me tell you, these days it ain’t so easy to find food that won’t upset your belly. My grandson, he’s got this thing, can’t eat no wheat. Says it makes him sick. So, I’m always lookin’ for wheat free frozen meatballs. It is hard, I tell ya.
Wheat Free, What’s That?
This wheat free thing, it’s all new to me. Back in my day, we ate what we had. But now, gotta read all them labels. Looking for that “wheat free” on the bag. These wheat free frozen meatballs, they gotta be just right, you know? Not too dry, not too spicy. Just good old-fashioned meatballs, but without the wheat. That is hard to find these days, you know?
Sometimes I just make ’em myself. But, oh, it’s a lot of work. Gotta get the meat, the spices, all that stuff. My old hands ain’t what they used to be. Rolling all them little balls, it tires me out. So when I can find some good wheat free frozen meatballs in the store, it’s a real blessing.
Cooking Them Frozen Meatballs
Now, you gotta know how to cook ’em right. Can’t just throw ’em in a pan. Well, I guess you could, but they won’t be as good.
- Sometimes I put them frozen meatballs in my slow cooker, my crock pot, that is. Just dump ’em in there with some sauce. Let ’em cook all day, real slow. They come out nice and tender. I think the frozen ones hold up better in the crockpot. Fresh ones fall apart. 5-6 hours on low, that is good.
- Other times, if I’m in a hurry, I just bake ’em. Spread ’em out on a pan. Bake ’em in the oven. 375 degrees, I think it is. Takes about 30 minutes, maybe more. You want them wheat free frozen meatballs cooked through. Nobody wants a raw meatball. 30-35 minutes in the oven should be fine.
Best Way is Simmer
But let me tell ya, the best way, the way my mama used to do it, is to simmer them meatballs in sauce, on the stove top. That is the best. Takes a while, but it’s worth it. They soak up all that sauce flavor. Whether you make them yourself or buy them, they is just the best when you simmer them. So tender, and so good!
You can fry them in a pan, get that crusty outside. I like that too, if I don’t have too many to cook. But simmering in sauce, that is the way to get real good wheat free frozen meatballs.
It ain’t easy, I tell ya, finding good food these days. But for my grandson, I gotta do it. Gotta find them wheat free frozen meatballs. It is important, you know? Family gotta eat, and they gotta eat good. And if I can find some good frozen ones at the store, that saves me a whole lot of trouble.
Finding Good Meatballs
Gotta look for the right brands. Some of them, they just crumble, you know? No good. I found that some of them wheat free frozen meatballs, they is better than others. You just gotta try them out, see which ones you like. The store, it has so many now.
