What to eat with crab legs: Tasty Sides for a Seafood Feast

Today, I am going to make a big meal, and the main dish is crab legs. I’ve already bought the crab legs from the market, big and plump, looks really good! But what should I eat with these crab legs? This really got me thinking for a while.

First, I tried the simplest thing, butter! I melted some butter, added a bit of garlic, and wow, it was delicious! Dipping the crab legs in the butter was just perfect. Simple, but really highlights the flavor of the crab.

But just butter seemed a bit boring, so I thought about making some other dipping sauces. I whipped up a quick sauce with mayonnaise, lemon juice, and some herbs. It tasted pretty good with the crab legs, a bit of sour and sweet, pretty refreshing.

Then, I thought about some side dishes. I had some potatoes at home, so I decided to make some scalloped potatoes. I sliced the potatoes, mixed them with some Gruyère cheese and cream, and baked them in the oven. The rich, cheesy flavor went really well with the crab legs. It was a really satisfying match.

  • Vegetables were also on my mind. I roasted some carrots, bell peppers, and zucchini. Roasting them brought out a natural sweetness that complemented the crab legs nicely. I also added some roasted garlic and mushrooms for an earthy flavor and a squeeze of lemon juice to tie everything together.
  • Another time, I tried some simpler veggies, like asparagus and broccoli. Roasted them until they were a bit caramelized, which made them naturally sweet and a great match for the crab. I served them both warm and cold with the crab, and both ways were tasty.
  • I also made a simple green salad, and sometimes I just got some French bread or sourdough bread. Oh, and coleslaw and potato salad! They were all pretty good with the crab legs. But honestly, I usually just make some garlic bread and maybe a simple green veggie like zucchini. Keeps things easy and delicious.

I also tried making some cheddar bay biscuits. I followed a recipe I found online, and they turned out pretty good! Golden and cheesy, a perfect match for a seafood feast.

Lastly, I experimented with fries, lemon wedges, and corn on the cob. They were all decent choices, but honestly, nothing beats the classic butter dip or a good, cheesy potato side dish.

So, after trying all these different combinations, I’ve found that what you eat with crab legs really depends on your personal preference. Whether it’s a simple butter dip or a more elaborate side dish, the most important thing is to enjoy the meal!
