Okay, so, I’ve been wanting to make this red hot chili shirt for a while now, and today I finally did it! It all started when I saw this awesome design online and I thought, “I gotta have that on a shirt.” So, I got myself a plain red t-shirt. Nothing fancy, just your basic red tee.
First, I needed to get my design ready. I found the image I wanted and printed it out. It was a bit tricky to get the sizing right, but after a couple of tries, I had it just perfect.
- Printed the design
- Cut out the design
- Positioned it on the shirt
Then came the fun part – actually getting the design onto the shirt. I used some transfer paper that I picked up from a craft store. You basically print your design onto this special paper and then iron it onto the fabric. Sounds easy enough, right?

Well, it was a bit more involved than I expected. I had to make sure the iron was at the right temperature, and I had to press down really hard to make sure the design transferred properly. I was sweating bullets, I’m not gonna lie. It took a few minutes, but I kept at it, going over each part of the design with the iron.
Ironing Woes
At one point, I thought I messed it up because the paper started to stick a little too much. But I just let it cool down for a bit, and then I was able to peel it off slowly. And guess what? It worked! The design was on the shirt, and it looked pretty darn good, if I do say so myself.
After that, I just had to let the shirt cool down completely. I was so excited to try it on. Once it was cool, I slipped it on, and it fit perfectly. The design was right where I wanted it, and the colors were vibrant. It was exactly what I had envisioned.
Honestly, it felt pretty awesome to wear something that I made myself. It’s not perfect, there are a couple of tiny imperfections, but that’s what makes it unique. I wore it out later that day, and I even got a few compliments on it, which was a nice little bonus. It is just a red t-shirt, maybe cherry red and oxblood.
So yeah, that’s how I made my red hot chili shirt. It was a fun little project, and I’m already thinking about what design I want to try next. Maybe I’ll even get some different colored shirts and go wild. Who knows!
