Alright, let’s talk about them little burgers, the mini ones, yeah, the mini burger sliders on Hawaiian rolls. You know, the ones that are good for when you got a bunch of folks comin’ over or just feelin’ like eatin’ a whole mess of somethin’ tasty.

First off, you gotta get yourself some ground beef. Not that fancy stuff, just the regular kind, the one that don’t cost an arm and a leg. You dump it in a bowl, yeah, a big ol’ bowl, and then you start addin’ things. I like to throw in some chopped-up onions – the little white ones, they got more bite – and some garlic, the kind you buy in a jar already chopped up ‘cause who got time to be messin’ with that little stuff, right?

Then, you need some breadcrumbs. Now, I don’t use no fancy breadcrumbs, I just take some old bread, the kind that’s gettin’ a little hard, and I crumble it up. Works just as good, and don’t waste nothin’. Throw that in the bowl too. And an egg. Gotta have an egg to hold it all together, you know. And then some salt and pepper, gotta have that, and maybe some of that… whatchamacallit… Worcestershire sauce. Just a little splash, don’t go overboard.

Okay, now you get your hands in there and mix it all up. Get it all mixed up real good, like you’re kneadin’ dough but not too much, just enough to get everything together. Then you start makin’ little patties, little flat ones, ‘cause they gotta fit on them Hawaiian rolls, you know, the sweet little rolls. You can find them at any store, they come in a pack all stuck together.

  • Get ground beef, not the fancy kind.
  • Chop up some onions and use jarred garlic.
  • Crumble old bread for breadcrumbs.
  • Add an egg, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce.
  • Mix everything well and make small, flat patties.

Now, you gotta cook them patties. You can fry ‘em in a pan, that’s what I do mostly. Just a little bit of oil in the pan, not too much, and fry them up till they’re brown on both sides. Don’t overcook ‘em, though, you want ‘em juicy. Or, you can bake ‘em in the oven, if you’re makin’ a whole bunch. Just put ‘em on a baking sheet and bake ‘em till they’re done. Either way works.

Once them patties are cooked, you gotta get your rolls ready. You slice them rolls in half, all of ‘em at once, see, so they’re still stuck together but you can open them up like a little book. Then you put them patties on the bottom half of the rolls, one patty on each little roll.

And cheese! Can’t forget the cheese! You can use whatever kind you like. I like the yellow kind, the cheddar, or sometimes that white kind, the Monterey Jack. You put a little piece of cheese on each patty, then you put the top half of the rolls back on.

Now, here’s the good part. You melt that cheese! If you fried them patties, you can just put the whole pan in the oven for a few minutes, just long enough to melt the cheese. Or if you baked ‘em, they’re already in the oven, so just leave ‘em in there a little longer. Or you can just put a lid on the pan and let the heat melt the cheese that way. Any way you do it, you want that cheese all melty and gooey.

And then they’re done! Them mini burger sliders on Hawaiian rolls, ready to eat. They’re good hot, right outta the oven, or even warm. They ain’t so good cold, though, so eat ‘em up while they’re still warm. And they’re good for anythin’. Parties, snacks, suppers, picnics, anythin’ at all.

You can add other stuff too, you know, if you want. Some folks like to put lettuce and tomato on ‘em, but I ain’t got time for that fuss. Just the burger and cheese is good enough for me. But you do what you want, it’s your food, right?

So that’s how you make them mini burger sliders on Hawaiian rolls. Easy peasy, even I can do it, and I ain’t no fancy cook or nothin’. Just good, plain food for good, plain folks.
