Okay, so I wanted to try something new in the kitchen, and I’d heard all the rage about this cream cheese and bacon green bean casserole. I figured, why not? Sounds like a winner, right? I mean, who doesn’t love bacon and cheese?
Getting Started
First off, I gathered all the stuff I needed. I grabbed some fresh green beans from the grocery store cause I wanted that fresh crunch, you know? Then, of course, the bacon – I picked up a nice thick-cut pack, nothing too fancy. And for the cheese part, I just went with a regular block of cream cheese.
Cooking Process
I started by snapping the ends off those green beans. It’s a bit of a chore, but it’s kinda relaxing, in a weird way. Then, I cooked them up in some boiling water. I didn’t want them to be total mush, so I only boiled them for a few minutes, just enough to get them a little tender, like my momma always did.

While the beans were doing their thing, I fried up that bacon. Oh boy, the smell of bacon cooking in the morning… or, well, it was the afternoon for me, but you get the idea. It filled my whole kitchen, and I had to stop myself from just snacking on it right then and there. I made sure to get it nice and crispy, just how I like it.
Mixing Everything
Once the bacon was done, I took it out of the pan, chopped it up into little bits. Then came the fun part – mixing it all together. I took the green beans, the chopped bacon, and a block of cream cheese. I also added some mushroom sauce that I had, ’cause, why not? The cream cheese was a bit stubborn at first, didn’t want to mix in, so I had to use a bit of elbow grease. I mashed it all together until it looked like a creamy, cheesy, bacon-y, green bean-y mess.
Baking Time
I scooped the whole mixture into a casserole dish that I had. I’m not a big baker or anything, so I don’t have all those fancy kitchen tools. But it all worked out. Popped it into the oven, which I had preheated. I think it was around 350 degrees? I don’t remember exactly, I just used the number from the recipe I found.
The Result
After about 20 minutes, or maybe a bit more, I checked on it. The top was all bubbly and golden brown, and the smell… oh man, it was heavenly. I took it out of the oven, let it cool for a bit – that’s important, don’t burn your tongue like I almost did! And then, I dug in.
It was so good! The cream cheese made it extra creamy, and the bacon added that perfect salty crunch. Even the green beans, which I’m not always crazy about, tasted amazing. I was pretty proud of myself, to be honest. It’s a super easy dish to make, and it’s definitely a crowd-pleaser. I’ll be making this one again for sure, maybe next time I’ll add some onions or garlic for a little extra kick!
So, that’s my adventure with the cream cheese and bacon green bean casserole. If you’re looking for something easy, tasty, and a little bit different, give it a try. You won’t be disappointed!
