Okay, so I’ve been craving that tangy tomato dressing from Outback Steakhouse lately. You know the one, right? It’s kinda sweet, kinda tangy, and just goes so well with their salads. I finally decided to try making it myself, and guess what? It turned out pretty darn good!
First, I gathered all the stuff I needed. I grabbed a can of tomato paste, some ketchup, and a few other things from my pantry. This is what I used:
- 1 (6 ounce) can of tomato paste
- 1 cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons tomato sauce (I just used extra ketchup, to be honest)
- Some other common ingredients that I already had
Then I threw everything into a bowl. I’m not a big fan of complicated recipes, so I was happy that this one seemed super easy. I started by emptying the can of tomato paste into the bowl. I don’t have a high-quality mixer so it took some time to prepare.

Next, I added the ketchup and the extra bit of tomato sauce. It is important to make sure everything is mixed well so it tastes the same way as the restaurant.
After that, I mixed everything together. I just used a regular whisk. After a few minutes of whisking, everything was nicely blended together. It looked pretty close to the Outback dressing already!
Finally, I gave it a taste. And boom! I was shocked! It’s good, maybe not exactly like the restaurant’s, but definitely in the ballpark. It had that same sweet and tangy flavor that I love. I could not wait to serve it to my friends!
My Honest Opinion
Honestly, this homemade tangy tomato dressing is a winner. It’s super easy to make, tastes delicious, and is way cheaper than buying it pre-made. I will probably be making this a lot from now on. I might even experiment with adding a little extra something next time, like a pinch of garlic powder or some herbs. Who knows! Anyway, if you’re an Outback fan like me, you gotta try this out. You won’t regret it!
