Okay, so this morning I was in a rush, but I still wanted a good breakfast. You know, something more than just a bowl of cereal. I remembered I had some potatoes in the freezer, and I thought, “Why not try making frozen breakfast potatoes?”

Getting Started

First, I grabbed the bag of frozen potatoes from the freezer. They were already diced, which saved me a ton of time. I poured some into a bowl – didn’t really measure, just eyeballed it.

The Cooking Process

Next, I heated up a little bit of oil in a pan. I like to use a non-stick pan, so nothing gets stuck. Once the oil was hot (not smoking, just shimmering), I dumped the frozen potatoes into the pan.

Important: I didn’t thaw them first. Straight from the freezer to the pan!

  • I spread them out in a single layer. This helps them cook evenly.
  • Then, I sprinkled on some salt, pepper, and a little bit of garlic powder. You can use whatever spices you like, really.
  • I let them cook for a bit, without stirring too much. I wanted them to get nice and brown on one side.
  • I just kept on doing my other prepare stuff, and after a while, I go back to the pan, and flipped the potatoes with a spatula.

Finishing Up

After a few more minutes, they were looking golden brown and crispy. I poked one with a fork to make sure it was cooked through. It was soft inside, crispy outside – perfect!

Finally, I took them off the heat and served them up with some eggs and toast. It was such a quick and easy breakfast, and way better than just cereal!

Seriously, if you’ve got frozen potatoes, give this a try. It’s a game-changer for busy mornings.
