Okay, so I’ve been messing around with my air fryer a lot lately, and let me tell you, it’s a game-changer. Today, I tried making thin pork chops in it, and wow, just wow. They turned out amazing! Here’s how I did it.
First, I grabbed some thin-cut pork chops from the fridge. I like getting the ones that are about 1/2 inch thick. It’s really important to make sure they’re not too thick, or they won’t cook evenly in the air fryer. I patted them dry with some paper towels. Moisture is the enemy of crispiness, you know?
Next, I seasoned them up. I went simple with just salt, pepper, garlic powder, and a little paprika for some color. You can totally get creative here, though. I’ve tried a bunch of different spice blends, and they all work great. Just make sure to really rub the seasoning into the meat so it sticks.

Then, I preheated my air fryer to 400°F (200°C). While that was heating up, I sprayed the air fryer basket with a little bit of oil. Don’t go crazy with the oil, though, because the air fryer is all about using less oil. The first time I put much oil, it took me a lot of time to clean it. Just a light spray is enough to prevent sticking.
Once the air fryer was hot, I placed the pork chops in the basket in a single layer. It’s super important not to overcrowd the basket. If you do, the air won’t be able to circulate properly, and your pork chops won’t get crispy. When I’m making a big batch, I always cook them in multiple rounds to prevent overcrowding.
Cooking Time
- I cooked them for about 6-8 minutes, flipping them halfway through. You might need to adjust the time depending on your air fryer and the thickness of your pork chops.
- The key is to cook them until they’re golden brown and crispy on the outside and cooked through on the inside.
- I always use a meat thermometer to make sure they’re done. The internal temperature should be 145°F (63°C) for safe eating.
After they were done, I took them out of the air fryer and let them rest for a few minutes. This is important because it lets the juices redistribute, making the meat more tender. And let me tell you, these pork chops were so juicy and tender on the inside, but super crispy on the outside. It was the perfect combo!
I served them up with some roasted veggies and mashed potatoes. It was a super easy and delicious weeknight meal. The whole family loved it, even my picky eaters. I’ll definitely be making these again soon. Air fryer for the win!
