Okay, so, I wanted to make some sausages the other day, but guess what? I totally forgot to take them out of the freezer. Yeah, I know, rookie mistake. But hey, it happens, right? So, there I was, staring at these frozen solid sausages, wondering if I could still salvage dinner. And that’s when I thought, why not try the air fryer?
I grabbed my trusty air fryer – seriously, this thing is a lifesaver – and preheated it to 400°F. While it was heating up, I took the sausages and gave them a quick rinse under some cold water. Just to get rid of any ice crystals, you know? Then I patted them dry with a paper towel. Gotta make sure they’re not too wet, otherwise, they won’t crisp up nicely.
Once the air fryer was ready, I arranged the sausages in a single layer in the basket. You don’t want them overlapping, or they won’t cook evenly. I gave them a little space between each one. Then, I popped the basket into the air fryer and set the timer for about 15 minutes. But keep an eye on them, you might need to adjust the time depending on your air fryer and the thickness of the sausages.

- Started by preheating the air fryer to 400°F.
- Rinsed the frozen sausages under cold water to remove ice crystals.
- Patted the sausages dry with a paper towel.
- Arranged the sausages in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
- Cooked for about 15 minutes, flipping them halfway through.
About halfway through, I opened up the air fryer and flipped the sausages over. This helps them cook evenly on both sides and get that nice golden-brown color. You might need to give them a little shake, too, just to make sure they’re not sticking together.
After 15 minutes, I checked to see if they were cooked through. The best way to do this is to use a meat thermometer. You want the internal temperature to reach 160°F. If they’re not quite there yet, just pop them back in for a few more minutes.
The End Result
And that’s it! Seriously, it was so easy. And the sausages turned out great – juicy on the inside, crispy on the outside. I served them up with some mashed potatoes and gravy, and it was the perfect comfort meal. Who knew you could cook frozen sausages in the air fryer and have them turn out so good? From now on, this is my go-to method for cooking frozen sausages. I am so happy that I can share it with all of you.
