Okay, so I’ve been growing potatoes for a while now, and I’m always looking for ways to improve my yields and keep those pesky bugs away. I heard someone mention something about using dried oregano as a natural pest repellent, so I thought, “Why not give it a shot?”

My Little Experiment

First, I gathered my materials. I already had a big jar of dried oregano in my spice rack – score! I also made sure my potato plants were healthy and watered. I picked a sunny afternoon to start my little experiment. I simply took handfuls of the dried oregano and sprinkled it around the base of each potato plant.
