Alright, folks, gather ’round. Today, I’m gonna share a little kitchen adventure I had. I was following this new recipe, right? And it called for 9 tablespoons of some liquid. Now, I don’t know about you, but I usually work with cups, not tablespoons. So, I had to figure out how to convert 9 tablespoons to cups.
First things first, I grabbed my phone and started googling. It’s amazing what you can find on the internet these days, you know? Anyway, I quickly learned that there are 16 tablespoons in a cup. 16 tablespoons = 1 cup I made a mental note of that, that’s for sure.
So, the next step was pretty simple, I just needed to do some basic math. If 1 cup is 16 tablespoons, then I needed to divide the number of tablespoons I had, which was 9, by 16. I took my phone again and used the calculator function.

- 9 tablespoons / 16 = 0.5625 cups
There you have it! 9 tablespoons is equal to 0.5625 cups. Or, if you want to keep it simple, that’s a little over half a cup.
What I Did
After I got my answer, I proceeded with my recipe. I carefully measured out a little over half a cup of the liquid and added it to my mix. Everything turned out great, the recipe was a success! I cleaned up my kitchen, washed my measuring tools, and made a note of this conversion for the future. It’s always good to learn something new, right? And now I can easily switch between tablespoons and cups whenever I need to. You can also try it yourself next time when you cook!
