Okay, so, today I tried making tostadas de ceviche. It’s like, you know, those crispy tortillas with a bunch of seafood on top? I’ve seen it around, and it always looks so fresh and tasty, so I thought, why not give it a shot?

First off, I gathered all the stuff I needed. I grabbed some raw fish, some limes, and a bunch of veggies like onions, tomatoes, and cilantro. I think you can use shrimp too, but I went with fish this time.

The Prep Work

So, I started by cutting the fish into small pieces. Then I squeezed a ton of lime juice all over it. I mean, the fish was practically swimming in it. I learned that this is the key part because the lime juice “cooks” the fish without any heat. It’s some kind of science thing, but basically, the acid changes the fish’s proteins.

  • Chopped the fish
  • Drowned it in lime juice
  • Chopped up all the veggies

While the fish was doing its thing in the lime juice, I chopped up all the veggies. I diced some onions, tomatoes, and cilantro. I also added some jalapeños because I like a little bit of heat. I mixed all the chopped veggies together in a bowl.

Putting It All Together

After a while, I checked on the fish. It turned kind of white and opaque, which means it’s “cooked.” I drained some of the excess lime juice and then mixed the fish with the veggies. I also added some salt and pepper for the taste.

Next, I grabbed some store-bought tostadas. You can make them yourself, but I was feeling a bit lazy today. I scooped the ceviche mixture onto the tostadas. I made sure to add some extra cilantro and avocado on top because, you know, it’s all about presentation. And also it tastes really good.

Finally, I served them up. They looked pretty good, if I do say so myself. And they tasted even better! The fish was tangy and the veggies were all fresh and crunchy. The crispy tostada added a nice texture to the whole thing.

It was a fun little cooking experiment. Plus, it’s pretty healthy, with all that fish and those veggies. I think I’ll definitely be making this again sometime. Maybe next time I’ll try it with shrimp. If you’re looking for something different to make, give this a try. It’s easier than you might think!
