Okay, so yesterday I was staring into my freezer, wondering what to make for dinner. I spotted this big ol’ pork loin and thought, “Can I even cook this thing from frozen in my slow cooker?” Turns out, you totally can! Here’s how it went down:

The Great Frozen Pork Loin Experiment

First, I grabbed that giant hunk of frozen pork. Seriously, it was like a brick. I didn’t even bother trying to thaw it.

Next, I dug around in my spice cabinet. I found some garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Nothing fancy, just the basics.

I mixed all those spices together in a little bowl. Then, I took the frozen pork loin and rubbed that spice mix all over it. I mean, I really massaged it in there, as much as you can on a frozen piece of meat, anyway.

Then, I chopped up an onion. Didn’t get too fussy with it, just some rough chunks.

I put a cup of water into my slow cooker,I put onion at the bottom.

I plunked that frozen, spice-rubbed pork loin right into the slow cooker, on top of the onion and water.

I put the lid on, set the slow cooker to low, and walked away. That’s the beauty of a slow cooker, right? Set it and forget it!

I let it cook for about 8 hours. I checked on it a couple of times, mostly just to peek, because I was curious. The house started to smell amazing!

After 8 hours, I took the pork loin out. It was super tender. I used two forks to shred it up – it practically fell apart, it was so cooked!

And that was it! We had shredded pork for dinner, and it was delicious. I served some of the shredded pork with the juice for my kid, I couldn’t belive that he eat all of * knew you could cook a pork loin from frozen in a crock pot and have it turn out so good? Definitely doing this again!
