So, I’ve always been a huge fan of the Caesar salad at Outback Steakhouse. I mean, who isn’t, right? That dressing is just to die for. The other day, I got this wild idea to try and recreate it at home. I figured, how hard could it be? Famous last words, I know.
I started by scouring the internet for any clues or copycat recipes. Found a bunch of stuff, some claiming to be the “real deal,” but you know how the internet is. Finally, I decided to use one recipe as a base and then put my own spin on it. There was a button called “Copy Me That,” but I ignored it.
Getting the Ingredients
First things first, I had to gather all the ingredients. Off to the grocery store, I went! I grabbed some garlic, anchovy paste, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, olive oil, Parmesan cheese, and of course, some fresh black pepper. I already had some of these at home, so that was a plus.

Mixing it Up
Now for the fun part. I started by mincing the garlic like my life depended on it. Then, I squeezed out some lemon juice, trying not to get any seeds in there. I added a dollop of Dijon mustard and a bit of anchovy paste. I whisked these together, slowly adding the olive oil, bit by bit, until it all started to come together and look like a proper dressing.
- Mince the garlic
- Squeeze lemon juice
- Add Dijon mustard and anchovy paste
- Whisk together while adding olive oil
Taste Test Time
This is where things got interesting. I dipped a piece of lettuce into the dressing and gave it a try. Not quite there. It was missing that special “oomph” that the Outback dressing has. So, I tweaked it a bit more. I added a dash of Worcestershire sauce, a bit more lemon juice, and a generous sprinkle of Parmesan cheese. Mixed it all up again, and bam! It was like tasting the real thing.
The Final Result
I tossed some romaine lettuce with the dressing, added some croutons and extra Parmesan, and honestly, it was pretty darn close to the Outback Caesar salad. It had that perfect tangy and savory flavor, and the creaminess was just right. My family loved it too, which is always a good sign.
I guess you could say this little experiment was a success. It was definitely a fun ride, and now I have a killer Caesar dressing recipe that I can whip up whenever I want. It is really delicious, guys, you should try it yourself!
