Okay, so I’ve been trying to keep things on the lighter side, food-wise, and I stumbled upon this recipe for a pineapple angel food cake that’s supposed to be Weight Watchers friendly. I figured, why not give it a shot? I love a good dessert, but I also don’t want to blow my whole day’s points on one slice of cake.
I started by gathering my ingredients. All I needed was a box of angel food cake mix and a can of crushed pineapple in its own juice. Yep, that’s it – just two things. I thought to myself, “This is too good to be true.”
Mixing it up was a breeze. I just dumped the cake mix and the undrained pineapple into a big bowl. No need to add anything else, which was kind of weird but also kind of awesome. I gave it a good stir until it was all combined, and the batter looked kind of foamy.

I poured the batter into a non-stick Bundt pan that I’d sprayed with a little cooking spray. Then, into the oven it went. I set the timer according to the cake mix box instructions, which was around 30-40 minutes, but I kept an eye on it just in case.
- While it was baking, I cleaned up my mess, which, honestly, wasn’t much. I love an easy clean-up!
- The cake started to smell amazing, like tropical goodness. My house was filled with this sweet pineapple scent.
Once the timer went off, I checked the cake with a toothpick. It came out clean, so I knew it was done. I let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before carefully flipping it onto a wire rack to cool completely.
The moment of truth
Once it was cooled, I sliced myself a piece. It was so light and fluffy, just like angel food cake should be. The pineapple added a nice sweetness and moisture, and it didn’t taste artificial at all. And the best part? It was only a couple of Weight Watchers points per slice!
I ended up having a second slice because, well, it was just that good. And I didn’t even feel guilty about it! This is definitely a recipe I’ll be making again, especially when I’m craving something sweet but don’t want to go overboard. I might even try it with different fruits next time, like maybe some mandarin oranges or peaches. We’ll see. Anyway, it was a total win in my book. I’m so glad I found this recipe and tried it out.
I guess I can share this “recipe” with my friends. Hope you enjoy my little share!
