Okay, so I’ve been seeing these sausage cream cheese Rotel crescent roll things all over the internet and I had to try them. They looked so easy and, you know, I love anything with cheese and sausage. Here’s how it went down in my kitchen:
Get Everything Ready
First, I grabbed all my stuff. I’m talking:
- 1 pound of sausage (I used the regular kind, not spicy)
- 1 (8 ounce) package of cream cheese, softened (important – don’t forget to take it out of the fridge beforehand!)
- 1 (10 ounce) can of Rotel (I went with the original, but you do you)
- 2 (8 ounce) cans of crescent rolls
Cook the Sausage
I threw the sausage into a skillet over medium-high heat. I kept breaking it up with a spoon until it was all brown and crumbly. No pink bits! This took me maybe, like, 7-10 minutes? Make sure you drain all that extra grease. Nobody wants a soggy roll.

Mix It All Up
Once the sausage was cooked, I took it off the heat. Then, I stirred in the softened cream cheese and the Rotel. Make sure you don’t drain the Rotel – you want all that juicy goodness. I just mixed everything together until it was nice and combined. It looked a little weird, I’ll admit, but I trusted the process.
Roll It Out
Here comes the fun part. I popped open those crescent roll cans. I unrolled the dough and separated them into the little triangles. Then, I spooned some of that sausage mixture onto the wide end of each triangle. Don’t overfill them, or it’ll be a mess! Then, I rolled them up, starting from the wide end and going towards the pointy tip. Just like you’re supposed to, I guess.
Bake ‘Em
I placed all those little rolls onto a baking sheet. I didn’t grease it or anything. I preheated my oven to 375°F (190°C) * I popped them into the oven for about 12-15 * will want the rolls golden brown and the filling is all hot and bubbly.I have to keep eye on them because my oven’s a little temperamental.
Devour!
Finally. I pulled them out of the oven and let them cool for just a couple of minutes (if you can wait that long!). Then, I just dug in. Seriously, these things are so good! They’re cheesy, savory, and just a little bit spicy. Perfect for a party, a game night, or, let’s be real, a random Tuesday night when you just want something delicious.
So, yeah, that’s my sausage cream cheese Rotel crescent roll adventure. Super easy, super tasty. Definitely give it a try!
