Okay, here’s my blog post about cooking skirt steak in my Ninja Air Fryer Oven:

My Skirt Steak Adventure

So, I’ve been messing around with my Ninja Air Fryer Oven lately, trying to see what all it can do. I saw some skirt steak at the store the other day and thought, “Why not?” I’ve grilled it before, but never tried it in the air fryer.

First, I grabbed the skirt steak – it was about 1.5 pounds. I took it out of the package and patted it dry with some paper towels. Gotta get that extra moisture off for a good sear, you know?

Next, I whipped up a quick marinade. Nothing fancy, just some stuff I had in the pantry:

  • Olive oil
  • Soy sauce
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • Garlic powder
  • Onion powder
  • Black pepper
  • A pinch of salt (not too much, the soy sauce is salty!)

I mixed all that up in a bowl and then slathered it all over the steak. I put the steak in a Ziploc bag and let it sit in the fridge for about an hour. You could probably do it longer, but I was hungry!

After that, I preheated my Ninja Air Fryer Oven to 400°F. The air fryer basket went in. I placed the marinated steak right in that basket and put it in oven.

I cooked it for about 6 minutes, then I flipped it over and cooked it for another 5-6 minutes. I was aiming for medium-rare, and I used a meat thermometer to check – it should read around 130-135°F for medium-rare.

Once it hit the right temperature, I took it out of the air fryer and let it rest on a cutting board for about 10 minutes. This is important – it lets the juices redistribute, so the steak stays nice and juicy.

Finally, I sliced it up against the grain (that’s super important for skirt steak, it makes it way more tender) and…boom! It was actually really good! Seriously, the air fryer gave it a nice crust on the outside, and it was perfectly cooked inside.

I served it with some roasted veggies, but honestly, it would be great in tacos, on a salad, or just by itself. I’m definitely going to make this again. Air fryer for the win!
