Okay, so I tried making this instant chocolate pudding peanut butter pie today, and let me tell you, it was quite the adventure. I’m not the best cook in the world, but I love trying new recipes, especially desserts. This one sounded amazing, and I thought I’d give it a shot.
Getting Started
First, I gathered all the ingredients. I already had most of them in my pantry, which was a good start. I did have to run to the store to grab some heavy cream and chocolate pudding mix, but that wasn’t a big deal.
Mixing it Up
The first real step was dealing with the peanut butter. The recipe I found online said to use a medium bowl and to beat the peanut butter until it was smooth. I did that using my trusty, which is not very smooth, I must tell you. I used my electric mixer because, honestly, who has the time to do it by hand? Anyway, after a few minutes, it looked pretty smooth, so I moved on to the next step.

Adding More Goodness
Then, I added the powdered sugar, the whole package of cream cheese, and a bit of milk to the peanut butter. I mixed it all up again until it was creamy and there were no lumps. It smelled so good at this point, I had to resist the urge to just eat it with a spoon.
The Chocolate Layer
In a separate bowl, I whisked together the chocolate pudding mix and milk. This part was easy, it only took about two minutes until the pudding started to thicken. Once it was ready, I spread it over the peanut butter layer. Man, it was starting to look like a real pie!
The Whipped Cream
Next, I had to make whipped cream from scratch, which I’ve done a few times before. I poured the heavy cream into a cold bowl and whipped it until stiff peaks formed. It took a bit of elbow grease, but it was worth it. I spread the whipped cream over the chocolate pudding layer, and it looked so fluffy and delicious.
Final Touches
To finish it off, I sprinkled some chocolate shavings on top for decoration. I also added a few dollops of extra whipped cream around the edges because why not? It looked pretty fancy, if I do say so myself.
The Result
I put the pie in the fridge for a few hours to let it set. When I finally took it out and had a slice, it was heavenly. The combination of chocolate and peanut butter was just perfect. The crust was crumbly, the filling was creamy, and the whipped cream added a nice lightness to it.

Just be prepared to do a bit of mixing and whipping!
