Okay, so I’ve been craving crab legs lately, the big, juicy kind. But you can’t just have crab legs, right? You gotta have some killer sides to go with them. So, I went on a mission to find the perfect pairings, and let me tell you, it was a delicious journey!
First, I thought about what I usually like with seafood. Corn on the cob is a classic, so that was a definite yes. I picked up some fresh corn at the farmer’s market – the sweeter, the better!
Then, I wandered over to the potato section. I figured some roasted potatoes would be amazing, especially with some garlic and herbs. I grabbed a bag of small red potatoes, because they roast up nice and crispy.

The Experiment Begins!
Back home, I got to work. I shucked the corn, and prepped the potatoes by washing and halving them. I tossed the potatoes in olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and some dried rosemary. Simple, but effective.
While the potatoes were roasting, I got a big pot of water boiling for the crab legs and corn. I added some Old Bay seasoning to the water, because, duh, it’s crab! Once the water was roaring, I dropped in the corn and let it cook for a few minutes. Then, in went the crab legs.
While everything was cooking, I whipped up a quick garlic butter sauce. Just melted butter, minced garlic, and a squeeze of lemon juice. Nothing fancy, but it’s all you really need with good crab.
The Feast!
Finally, everything was ready! I pulled the crab legs and corn out of the water, and the potatoes out of the oven. The kitchen smelled incredible. I arranged everything on a big platter – the bright red crab legs, the golden corn, and the crispy roasted potatoes. I poured the garlic butter into a little bowl for dipping.
It was perfect! The sweetness of the corn balanced the richness of the crab, and the roasted potatoes added a nice savory element. And of course, everything tasted amazing dipped in that garlic butter. I think the lemon cut the richness just right.
Honestly, it was one of the best meals I’ve had in a while. Sometimes, the simplest things are the best, and this crab leg feast was definitely proof of that. I highly recommend this combo – you won’t be disappointed!
