So, I started this little project today. I decided to find a fruit or vegetable that begins with the letter “B.” Sounds simple, right? Well, it kinda was, but I still wanted to make a thing of it. You know, document the whole process, because why not?
First, I grabbed my phone and opened up the browser. I just typed in “fruits that start with B” into the search bar. Immediately, “banana” popped up. Of course! I mean who doesn’t think of banana? It’s like the most obvious “B” fruit. But, that was just way too easy, and honestly, a little boring.
Then, I changed my search to “vegetables that start with B.” A whole bunch of stuff showed up. I scrolled through the results for a bit. Honestly, there’s a lot more than I expected. I saw a list of B vegetables and my eyes are aiming at it.

But then, another thing caught my eye. It was this weird-sounding fruit called “Babaco.” I clicked on it because, what the heck is a Babaco? Turns out, it’s some tropical fruit from South America. It looked kinda like a longer, skinnier papaya in the pictures. The description said it tastes sweet and tangy, with a bit of strawberry and pineapple flavor. Sounds pretty good, actually!
I spent a good chunk of time reading about Babaco. Like, where it grows, how it’s eaten, and all that jazz. It was actually pretty interesting learning about a fruit I’d never even heard of before. I even checked to see if any of the local supermarkets carried it, but no luck there. Guess I won’t be trying Babaco anytime soon.
- Search: Fruits starting with B
- Result: Banana (too basic)
- Search: Vegetables starting with B
- Result: Lots of options
- Discovered: Babaco
- Learned: About Babaco’s origin, taste, etc.
- Tried: Finding it locally (unsuccessful)
So yeah, that’s how I ended up spending my afternoon. It started as a simple search and I ended up down a rabbit hole reading about some obscure tropical fruit. But hey, I learned something new, and that’s always a win in my book. Maybe I’ll make this a regular thing. Next time, I’ll tackle the letter “C.”
Stay tuned, folks. You might be surprised by what you learn when you just set out to find a fruit or veggie with a certain letter!
