Okay, so the other day, I had a pack of frozen sausages and zero time to thaw them. I was starving, and the kids were getting hangry. You know how it is. So, I thought, “Can I just throw these icy bricks in the oven?” Turns out, you totally can!
My Frozen Sausage Oven-Baking Adventure
First, I grabbed my trusty baking sheet. No need for anything fancy, just a regular one.
Then, I preheated the oven. I set it to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Seems to be the magic number for most things, right?
While the oven was heating up, I took the frozen sausages out of their packaging. They were solid, like little meat ice cubes. I placed them on the baking sheet, making sure they weren’t touching. You want them to cook evenly, not steam each other.

Once the oven was ready, I popped the baking sheet in. I didn’t add any oil or anything. Just the sausages, straight up.
Now, for the waiting game. I set a timer for 20 minutes, but I knew I’d need to keep an eye on them. Frozen stuff can be tricky.
After 20 minutes, I checked on them. They were starting to brown, but definitely not done. I carefully flipped each sausage over with tongs. You want to get that nice color on all sides.
Back in the oven they went! I added another 10-15 minutes to the timer, just to be safe.
Finally, after about 30-35 minutes total, they looked perfect. Golden brown, sizzling, and smelling delicious. I used a meat thermometer to make absolutely sure they were cooked through – you want them to reach 160 degrees Fahrenheit internally.
And that’s it! I pulled them out of the oven, let them cool for a couple of minutes (because, ouch, hot!), and served them up. They were surprisingly juicy and flavorful, even though they started out frozen. Total win!
Honestly, I’m probably to do that next time! Easy!
