Empress Gin Cocktail Guide: Simple, Delicious Drinks

Okay, so I’ve been seeing this “Empress Gin Cocktail” all over my feed, and you know I had to try it. I’m not a huge gin person, usually more of a vodka gal, but the color of this thing? Irresistible. Plus, I love a good experiment in the kitchen, even if it’s just mixing drinks.

Getting Everything Ready

First things first, I needed to gather all the stuff. Here’s what I rounded up:

  • Empress 1908 Gin (obviously, it’s the star). It is what gives such beautiful color!
  • Some fresh lemons.
  • Simple syrup.
  • Tonic water, make sure its good quality!
  • Ice, and a lot of it.
  • A cocktail shaker.
  • A jigger or measuring spoons, for measure the ingredients.
  • And the fancy glasses, of course.

Making the Cocktail

Alright, now for the fun part. I started by juicing a couple of lemons. I wanted enough for a few drinks, because why not? Fresh juice is always better, right?

Then, I grabbed my shaker and filled it with ice. I poured in 2 ounces of the Empress Gin – that gorgeous purple liquid. I accidentally spilled a tiny bit and got to see the magic color! Then, I added about ¾ of an ounce of the fresh lemon juice and about the same amount of simple syrup. You can adjust this based on how sweet or tart you like your drinks. I like mine a little more on the tart side.

I put the lid on the shaker and shook it like I meant it. A good 15-20 seconds, until the shaker was freezing cold. You want everything to be really well combined and chilled.

Then I took my nice glasses, filled them with ice, and strained the cocktail into the glasses. I wanted to be precise, so I went slow.

Lastly, I topped it with tonic water. The color change is what makes it magic, going from deep purple to this light pink. I have to say, its pretty cool. I added a lemon wedge for garnish, because I am fancy like that.

Final Result And Thoughs

And there you have it! My very own Empress Gin Cocktail. Honestly, it was super easy, and it looked amazing. It tasted pretty good too, even for someone who’s not a huge gin fan. The lemon and simple syrup balanced out the gin’s flavor, and the tonic gave it a nice fizz. Definitely a refreshing drink for a warm evening, I will make it next time for my friends!
