Well, hello there, everyone! You know, my grandbabies, they just love that Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal. Can’t get enough of it, they say. So, I got to thinkin’, what else can you do with that stuff besides pourin’ milk on it? Turns out, quite a bit! Let me tell ya, this ain’t no fancy cookin’ show, just good ol’ home-style ideas.
First off, let’s talk about somethin’ easy. You ever heard of Cinnamon Toast Crunch Waffles? Yeah, that’s right. You just throw some of that cereal right into your waffle batter. Not too much, mind you, just enough to give it a little crunch. And the kids, oh, they gobble it right up! I sometimes even make extra and freeze them so they can just pop them in the toaster whenever they want. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy, just like I always say!
Then there’s this other thing, kinda like French toast, but all covered in that cereal. They call it crusted French toast I reckon. You just dip your bread in the egg stuff like always, but then, instead of fryin’ it plain, you coat it with crushed-up Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Fry it up in a pan, and it gets all crispy and sweet. My son-in-law, he’s a big fella, and he can eat a whole plate of these things! It’s a good way to get some food in him, that’s for sure.
- Cinnamon Toast Crunch Milkshake: Blend that cereal with some ice cream and milk. Tastes just like the bottom of the cereal bowl, but thicker and colder. The young’uns, they go crazy for this. And it’s a good way to use up the cereal when it gets a little stale. Don’t tell nobody I told ya that!
- Cheesecake Bars: Now, this one’s a bit fancier, but still easy enough for an old woman like me. You make a crust out of the crushed-up cereal and butter, then you put cheesecake stuffin’ on top. Bake it up, and oh my, it’s good! I took some to the church potluck last month, and they were gone in a flash. Everyone wanted to know the recipe. I just smiled and said it was a secret, you know, like we old ladies do.
Oh, and get this, you can even make little no-bake mini cheesecakes. You just mix the cereal crumbs with some butter, press it into little cups, and then top it with a creamy cheesecake mix. Stick ‘em in the fridge, and you got yourself a sweet treat without even turnin’ on the oven. Perfect for when it’s hot outside and you don’t want to heat up the whole house.
And for somethin’ really special, you gotta try Glazed Cinnamon Toast Crunch Donuts. Now, I ain’t made these myself, but my neighbor, she makes ‘em all the time. She says you mix the cereal right into the donut batter, and then you glaze ‘em with a sweet icing and sprinkle more cereal on top. They look so pretty, and I bet they taste even better. Maybe I’ll give it a try someday. If I can figure it out, anyone can!
Now, I heard tell of some folks usin’ that cereal in somethin’ called a “shot.” Cinnamon Toast Crunch Shot, they call it. Sounds like somethin’ the youngsters drink. It’s got some kinda creamy liquor and that Fireball whiskey in it. And they put cinnamon sugar around the rim of the glass. I tell ya, these young folks and their drinks! I’ll stick to my sweet tea, thank you very much.
One thing though, you gotta remember this cereal has sugar in it. A fair bit, I’d say. So don’t go eatin’ it for every meal, ya hear? Everything in moderation, that’s what my mama always told me. A little bit of sweetness is fine, but too much ain’t good for nobody. You don’t wanna end up with tooth problems or get too big around the middle, you know what I mean?
So there you have it, a few ideas for usin’ that Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal. Nothin’ fancy, just good eatin’. You try ‘em out, and let me know what you think. And remember, cooking ain’t about following rules, it’s about havin’ fun and makin’ somethin’ tasty for the people you love. Now go on, get in the kitchen and start cookin’!
