Well, let me tell you somethin’ about these cookies I been makin’. They got that crunch from them Rice Krispies, and they got that good peanut butter taste too. Everybody ’round here just loves ’em. They’re easy to make, you know. Not like them fancy cakes. Just simple good eatin’.
Peanut Butter Goodness
First off, you gotta get yourself some peanut butter. Creamy kind, that’s what I like. But if you like that crunchy peanut butter, that’s alright too, I reckon. Peanut butter’s the star of the show here, makes these cookies somethin’ special.
You mix that peanut butter up real good. Make sure it ain’t too hard. Sometimes I gotta let it sit out a bit to soften up. ‘Specially in the wintertime, when it gets all cold and stiff. Ain’t nobody got time for that.
Rice Krispies Make It Crunchy
Then there’s them Rice Krispies. They make these cookies crunchy, you know. Not like them soft cookies that just melt in your mouth. These got a little bite to ’em. Some folks like that. I know I do. My teeth ain’t what they used to be, but I still like a good crunch. Rice Krispies are the best, snap, crackle, and pop!
- Get yourself a big bowl.
- Pour in them Rice Krispies.
- Make sure they’re all in there.
You gotta mix ’em in good with the peanut butter. Make sure every little Rice Krispie gets covered in that peanut buttery goodness. That’s what makes these cookies so darn good.
Sweetness and Other Stuff
Now, you can’t have cookies without sugar, can you? ‘Course not. That’s what makes ’em sweet. I use regular white sugar, the kind you get at the store. Nothin’ fancy. But I heard some folks use that brown sugar. I guess that’s alright too. Whatever floats your boat, I always say.
You need some other stuff too, like that corn syrup. Makes ’em chewy, I think. And you gotta have butter, or margarine. Whatever you got on hand. Some folks say butter’s better, but I don’t think it matters much. They all taste good to me. Also you need some eggs, those help hold it all together. Don’t want your cookies fallin’ apart, do ya?
Mix It All Up
So, you take all them ingredients, the peanut butter, the Rice Krispies, the sugar, the corn syrup, the butter, and the eggs. You dump ’em all in a big bowl and you mix ’em up. Mix ’em up real good. Gotta make sure it’s all mixed together. Use a spoon, or your hands. I use my hands. Gets the job done quicker, I think. Plus, it’s kinda fun.
- Mix the wet stuff.
- Mix the dry stuff.
- Then mix ’em all together.
- Make sure it’s all mixed up good.
Bakin’ Time for These Cookies
Once it’s all mixed, you gotta bake ’em. Now, I use an old pan. Nothin’ special. But you can use whatever you got. Line it with that wax paper, though. Don’t want them cookies stickin’ to the pan. That’s a mess nobody wants to deal with.
You bake ’em in the oven. Not too hot, though. You don’t want ’em burnin’. ‘Bout 350 degrees, I reckon. That’s what my oven says, anyway. Keep an eye on ’em. You don’t want ’em gettin’ too brown. Just a little golden brown. That’s when they’re perfect. You have to wait for a while and let it cool down.
Everybody Loves These Cookies
When they’re done, you take ’em out and let ’em cool. Then you can eat ’em. And let me tell you, they’re good. Real good. Everybody ’round here loves ’em. My grandkids, they can’t get enough. They’re always askin’ for more. These cookies are good for any time, you know. A little snack, or after dinner. They always hit the spot.
These cookies, they ain’t fancy. They ain’t like them cookies you see on them cookin’ shows. But they’re good. They’re simple. And they make people happy. And that’s what matters, ain’t it? Makin’ people happy with good food. That’s what I like to do. You don’t need to be an expert to make these, even a child can do it with you. So if you’re lookin’ for a good cookie, try these.
