They say this kind of breakfast is good for ya. All that protein and whatnot. Keeps ya from gettin’ hungry too soon. That’s what they say. I guess if ya work hard, ya need somethin’ to keep ya goin’. Keeps ya from snackin’ on junk, maybe.

And the eggs! Don’t forget the eggs. They boil ’em, mostly. Sometimes they scramble ’em up. But usually, it’s boiled eggs. Now, I like my eggs fried with some bacon. But they do things different over there, ya know? German big breakfasts why? Protein, maybe that’s another reason.

  • Boiled eggs mostly
  • Sometimes scrambled

Now, they also got this stuff called “Muesli”. It’s like oatmeal but with all kinds of things mixed in. Fruits, nuts, seeds. They eat it with milk or yogurt. They say it’s healthy. I guess it’s like their version of our cereal. But probably better for ya. Less sugar, I bet.

And the yogurt! Not that sweet stuff we got here. It’s plain and tangy. They eat it with fruit or that Muesli stuff. I guess it’s good for your gut or somethin’. They’re big on that healthy stuff over there. Those Germans take care of themselves.

  • Muesli – like oatmeal but fancy
  • Yogurt – plain and tangy, not sweet

So, why do they eat so much in the mornin’? Well, from what I gather, they like to fill up. They eat a big breakfast so they don’t get hungry later. They work hard, them Germans. Always busy doin’ somethin’. They need that fuel, I suppose.

And they eat early, too! I hear they’re up and at ’em before the sun sometimes. They eat their German big breakfasts between 6 and 8 in the morning! Can you believe that?
