Okay, so yesterday I decided I was gonna cook lingcod. I’d never cooked it before, but I saw some nice-looking fillets at the store and thought, “Why not?”
Find the Recipe
First things first, I needed a game plan. No way was I winging it. So, I grabbed my phone and did a quick search for “easy lingcod recipes.” Found a bunch, but one caught my eye – it was simple, with just a few ingredients I mostly already had.
Prep the Fish
Next, I got the fish ready. I took the lingcod fillets out of the fridge. Gave them a good rinse under cold water and patted them dry with paper towels. Gotta make sure they’re not all slimy, you know?

Get the Ingredients Together
Now for the other stuff. I needed:
- Olive oil – Just a drizzle.
- Lemon – Had a fresh one, perfect!
- Garlic – Minced it up real fine.
- Salt and pepper – Can’t forget the basics.
- Some herbs – such as parsley.
Cook It Up
I heated up some olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Once it was hot, I carefully placed the lingcod fillets in. Seasoned them with salt, pepper. I squeezed fresh lemon juice over the top and toss some minced garlic.
I let them cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side. You know it’s done when it flakes easily with a fork. Don’t want to overcook it, or it gets all dry and rubbery.
Serve and Eat
Finally, I put the cooked lingcod on a plate. I sprinkled those herbs on top for a bit of color and, boom, dinner was served. I just add some steamed broccoli, It was surprisingly delicious.
Honestly, it turned out way better than I expected. I think I use another way to cook it next time!
