Okay, so I’ve been seeing these gorgeous Fuji apples everywhere lately, and I finally caved and bought a big bag. I mean, who can resist that beautiful rosy blush and that satisfying crunch? But then I realized… I had so many apples. Time to get creative in the kitchen!

My Fuji Apple Recipe Experiment

First, I decided to keep it simple. I sliced up a couple of apples and paired them with some sharp cheddar cheese. Classic, right? The sweetness of the Fuji and the tang of the cheese? Perfection. I even sprinkled a little cinnamon on some of the slices – game changer!

Next up, I wanted something a bit more substantial. I found a recipe online for an apple crisp, but I tweaked it a bit. Here’s what I did:

  • I peeled and chopped about six Fuji apples into bite-sized pieces.
  • I tossed them in a bowl with some lemon juice (to keep them from browning), a little brown sugar, cinnamon, and a pinch of nutmeg.
  • For the topping, I combined rolled oats, flour, more brown sugar, cinnamon, and some cold butter that I cut in with a fork until it was all crumbly.
  • I layered the apples in a baking dish, sprinkled the topping all over, and baked it at 375 degrees Fahrenheit until it was golden brown and bubbly. It took around 40 minutes, I think. My kitchen smelled amazing!

I scooped some of the warm crisp into a bowl and added a dollop of vanilla ice cream. Seriously, so good. The apples were tender and sweet, and the topping was crispy and buttery.

I still had a few apples left, so I decided to try something different. I whipped up a quick apple salad. I diced the apples, added some chopped celery and walnuts, and tossed everything with a simple dressing of mayonnaise, a little bit of honey, and a squeeze of lemon juice. It was a nice, refreshing change of pace.

Honestly, Fuji apples are so versatile. You can eat them plain, bake with them, cook with them… the possibilities are endless. I’m already thinking about making an apple pie next. Maybe I’ll even try some apple butter! I’ll keep you guys posted on how that goes. Let me know if you have any amazing Fuji Apple recipes to share. I would love to find out!
