Okay, let’s get to baking! I’ve been seeing this baked brie with strawberry preserves thing all over my feed, so I finally decided to give it a shot. Here’s how it went down:
Getting Started
First, I gathered my ingredients. I grabbed:
- A wheel of brie (I went with a small one, about 8 ounces)
- Some strawberry preserves (I used my favorite store-bought kind)
- A sheet of puff pastry (I had defrosted this earlier)
- An egg (for an egg wash)
Prepping the Brie
I preheated my oven to 375°F (190°C). While that was heating up, I took the puff pastry and rolled it out a bit on a lightly floured surface. I just wanted it big enough to wrap around the brie. I placed the brie in the center of the pastry.

Then, the fun part! I took a good spoonful of the strawberry preserves and spread it on top of the brie. Don’t be shy with the preserves!
Wrapping it Up
Now, I folded the puff pastry up and over the brie, making sure it was completely sealed. It looked like a little, bumpy package. I pinched the edges together to make sure nothing would leak out. I flipped it over so the seams were on the bottom and placed it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
The Final Touches
I whisked the egg with a little bit of water to make an egg wash. I brushed this all over the top and sides of the pastry. This is what gives it that golden-brown, glossy look.
Baking Time!
I popped the whole thing in the oven and baked it for about 20-25 minutes. I kept an eye on it, and when the pastry was golden brown and looked puffed up, I knew it was done.

The Result
I carefully took out and let it cool for a few minutes before cutting into *, the cheese was so gooey and melty, and the strawberry preserves added the perfect sweetness. It was seriously good! I served it with some crackers, and it was a total hit, so delicious! I will do it next time!
