Okay, so the other day, I was super hungry but also super lazy, you know? I didn’t feel like doing much cooking, so I rummaged through my freezer and found a bag of frozen breaded chicken patties. Score! I remembered that my air fryer could probably do a decent job with these, so I decided to give it a shot.
First, I grabbed that bag of chicken patties and took out a few. I didn’t bother to thaw them, just pulled them straight from the freezer, which is the best part of using frozen things. Then I preheated my air fryer. I usually set it to around 400 degrees Fahrenheit for most frozen stuff like this.
While the air fryer was heating up, I prepared a small baking tray by lining it with parchment paper, making the clean-up way easier. Then, once the air fryer was ready, I placed those frozen patties in the basket, making sure they weren’t overlapping. You want that hot air to circulate all around each patty.

- Place them in the basket.
- Don’t let them overlap.
Cooking Time!
I closed the air fryer and set the timer. Now, the cooking time can be a bit tricky, it really depends on how thick your patties are. I usually start with around 10 minutes, then flip them over and cook for another 5-8 minutes. You want them to be golden brown and crispy, and of course, cooked all the way through.
After the first 10 minutes, I opened the air fryer and carefully flipped each patty. Then I popped them back in for about 7 more minutes. When the timer buzzed, I checked them out. They were looking pretty good, nice and golden, so I took them out. If they are not crispy enough, I put them back for about 2 more minutes.
Final Result
I let them cool for just a minute or two, then slapped one on a bun with some lettuce and mayo. Honestly, it was way better than I expected! Super crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. The air fryer really does a great job with these frozen chicken patties.
So yeah, that’s my little story about cooking frozen breaded chicken patties in the air fryer. It’s a super easy and quick way to get a tasty meal without much effort. Give it a try sometime!
