Okay, here’s my blog post about making rice crispy white chocolate peanut butter treats:

So, I really wanted something sweet and salty the other day, and I had a box of Rice Krispies just sitting there. I also had some white chocolate chips and, well, peanut butter is a staple in my house. It was like the universe was telling me to make something awesome. And that’s how this whole thing got started.

Getting Started

First, I grabbed a big mixing bowl. You know, the kind you use for everything? Yeah, that one. Then, I measured out about six cups of Rice Krispies and dumped them in. I didn’t pack them down or anything, just let them be all fluffy.

Next, I took a look at the white chocolate. I had about a cup and a half of chips. I put them in a microwave-safe bowl and zapped them for about 30 seconds. Then I stirred, and zapped again for another 30. It took a few rounds, but I kept doing it until the chocolate was nice and smooth, no lumps.

Peanut Butter Time!

This is where it gets good. I scooped out a heaping half-cup of creamy peanut butter – gotta be creamy for this, folks – and added it to the melted white chocolate. I stirred and stirred until it was all combined, kind of like a beautiful, swirly dream.

Mixing it All Up

I poured that glorious white chocolate peanut butter mixture over the Rice Krispies in the big bowl. Then, using a big spatula (or my hands, let’s be real), I gently folded everything together. You want to make sure every single Krispie gets coated, but you don’t want to crush them. It’s a delicate balance.

Setting the Treats

I lined a baking dish – I think it was 9×13 inches – with some parchment paper. This is key, or else you’ll be fighting to get them out later. Then I dumped the whole mixture into the dish and spread it out evenly. I pressed it down a little, just to make sure it was all compact.

The Hardest Part…Waiting!

Then came the torture: waiting for it to set. I stuck the whole dish in the fridge for what felt like forever, but was probably about an hour. You want it to be firm enough to cut.

Finally!

Once it was solid, I lifted the whole thing out of the dish using the parchment paper. Then I cut it into squares. They were a little crumbly, but who cares? They tasted amazing! That mix of sweet, salty, crunchy, and creamy… seriously, so good.

  • 6 cups Rice Krispies
  • 1 1/2 cups white chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter

And that’s it. Simple easy and done!
