Hey there, honey. Today, I gonna tell you ’bout makin’ somethin’ real good. It’s that banana bread, but we gonna use that Krusteaz pancake mix. Yeah, you heard right, pancake mix! It’s a little trick I learned, saves ya some time, ya know? And it turns out just as tasty as the old way, maybe even tastier. Trust this old gal on this one.
First, you gotta have them bananas. Not just any bananas, mind ya. They gotta be the ripe ones. You know, the ones with the brown spots all over ’em. The spottier the better, I always say! Those are the ones that are all sweet and mushy, perfect for banana bread. If ya try to use them green ones, it just ain’t gonna be the same. It’ll be all hard and, well, not sweet at all. We don’t want that, do we?
- Get them ripe bananas, all brown and spotty.
- That Krusteaz pancake mix, you’ll need that.
- Some eggs, just a couple will do ya.
- Little bit of oil, the kind you use for fryin’.
- Sugar, ’cause we want it sweet, right?
- Maybe a dash of vanilla, if you’re feelin’ fancy.
Now, you take them ripe bananas, maybe three or four good-sized ones, and you mash ’em up real good. Just use a fork, nothin’ fancy needed. Mash ’em until they’re all gooey and there ain’t no big lumps left. Then, you crack in them eggs, one at a time, and mix it all up with the banana mush. Gotta get it all mixed in good, so it’s all the same color, ya see?
Next, you pour in a little bit of that oil. Not too much, just enough to make it all moist. Then comes the sugar. Now, how much sugar you put in depends on how sweet you like your banana bread. I usually put in a good cup, maybe a little more, ’cause I like mine sweet. But you do what you like, honey. It’s your bread!
And that pancake mix, that Krusteaz one. You gonna add that in next. Don’t need to do anything special, just dump it in there. Then the mix, stir, stir, stir with a big spoon until everything all combined. Don’t want no lumps of dry mix in there. It should all look like a big, brown batter.
Now, if you wanna add a little somethin’ extra, you can throw in some nuts. Walnuts are good, or pecans. Chop ’em up a bit first, though. Don’t want no giant chunks in there. Or maybe some chocolate chips. Who doesn’t love chocolate, right? Just sprinkle some in and give it another stir. It make this banana bread with Krusteaz pancake mix even better!
Once it’s all mixed up, you gotta get your pan ready. Just a regular loaf pan, the kind you use for meatloaf or somethin’. Grease it up real good with some butter or some of that spray stuff. Don’t want your banana bread stickin’ to the pan, now do we? That’d be a real mess.
Pour that batter into the pan, smooth it out on top so it’s all even. Then, you pop it in the oven. Now, the oven needs to be hot, but not too hot. ‘Bout 350 degrees, I reckon. Just like bakin’ a cake. Then you just gotta wait. It usually take a spell, so you have some time to clean the kitchen.
It’s gonna take a while to bake, maybe an hour, maybe a little more. You’ll know it’s done when it’s all golden brown on top and a toothpick stuck in the middle comes out clean. If it comes out with batter on it, it ain’t done yet. Gotta put it back in for a little longer.
When that banana bread is done, you take it out of the oven and let it cool for a bit. It is hot, be careful! Don’t try to take it out of the pan right away, or it might fall apart. Just let it sit there and cool down. Then, you can run a knife around the edges and turn it out onto a plate.
And there ya have it! Banana bread made with Krusteaz pancake mix. Easy peasy, right? And it’s so good! You can eat it warm, with a little butter on top. Or you can let it cool completely and have it for breakfast the next day. It’s good either way. This is a good way to make banana bread.
I like to have a slice with my coffee in the mornin’. It’s a real treat. And the best part is, it didn’t take all day to make. That pancake mix is a real time-saver. So if you don’t want spent too much time in the kitchen, use that Krusteaz pancake mix. So there ya go, honey. Now you know how to make banana bread the easy way. Give it a try, and let me know what you think! I bet you’ll love it just as much as I do. And remember, the riper the bananas, the better!
