Well, lemme tell ya, I been makin’ pancakes for a good long while. My grandkids, they always gobblin’ ’em up faster than I can flip ’em. Now, I seen this here Krusteaz pancake mix at the store, and I thought, “Why not give it a whirl?” But, ya know, I like to add my own little somethin’ somethin’ to make ’em extra special. And what’s that somethin’, ya ask? Bananas! Yep, plain ol’ bananas. They make them pancakes so good, even the chickens would be jealous.

Now, some folks, they just follow what’s on the box. But me? I like to do things my way. And when it comes to this here Krusteaz pancake mix, addin’ bananas is the way to go. Makes ’em taste like a little slice of heaven, I tell ya. And ain’t nothin’ better than a taste of heaven in the mornin’, right?

So, you wanna know how I do it? It ain’t rocket science. I just mash up some ripe bananas. The riper, the better, I always say. Makes ’em sweeter, ya see. Then I just dump ’em right into that there Krusteaz batter. Give it a good stir, and you’re good to go. Now if you want them real fluffy, some folks say to beat an egg white separate and put it in, but who has time for that? I put a whole egg in there, and it turns out just fine.

Here’s what I do, step by step:

  • First, I get me a couple of them bananas. Maybe two or three, dependin’ on how much I’m makin’.
  • Then, I peel ’em and mash ’em up real good with a fork. Gotta get all them lumps out.
  • Next, I follow the directions on that Krusteaz box. Mix the water and the mix and the egg, just like it says.
  • Then, I just dump in them mashed bananas and give it a good ol’ stir.
  • And don’t be mixing it to death, now. Just get it all combined.

Now, some folks, they like to add other things to their pancakes. Chocolate chips, blueberries, all sorts of fancy stuff. But me? I stick with my bananas. They’re cheap, they’re tasty, and they make them Krusteaz pancakes somethin’ special. And they’re good for ya, too. Lots of that there… pot-ass-ee-um, or somethin’ like that. I just say adding those mashed banana, no need for extra sugar, and those krusteaz pancakes are going to be healthier than usual.

When you are cooking them pancakes, make sure to make the batter a little thicker. I find it makes them fluffier and easier to scoop. Then you just drop a spoonful of batter onto a hot griddle. I like to use a little butter on that griddle, makes ’em nice and brown. Cook ’em for a few minutes on each side, until they’re golden brown and cooked through. You’ll know they’re done when they start to get little bubbles on top. That’s when you flip ’em over. And don’t be pressin’ down on ’em with your spatula. That just makes ’em tough.

Now, I know some of ya might be thinkin’, “Why bother with the bananas? Just make the pancakes plain.” But I’m tellin’ ya, those bananas add somethin’ special. They make ’em sweeter, they make ’em moister, and they make ’em taste like you spent all day in the kitchen, even though you didn’t. Plus, it’s a good way to use up them old bananas that are sittin’ on the counter, turnin’ brown. Don’t throw ’em away! Mash ’em up and put ’em in your Krusteaz pancake mix! Some say you can even use them mashed bananas instead of eggs, I never tried that though.

I also heard some people use buttermilk to cook pancakes, making it fluffier. I say, whatever floats your boat. But my way, with the bananas, is the best way. My grandkids, they always clean their plates when I make these here banana pancakes. And they’re picky eaters, too! So that’s sayin’ somethin’.

So next time you’re at the store, and you see that box of Krusteaz pancake mix, pick it up. And don’t forget the bananas! You won’t regret it. And who knows, maybe you’ll even start a new tradition in your family. Banana pancakes every Saturday mornin’. Sounds pretty good, don’t it?

And don’t be afraid to experiment a little. Maybe add a little cinnamon, or a little nutmeg. Or maybe even a little vanilla. Just a tiny bit, though. You don’t wanna overpower that good banana flavor. That’s the star of the show, after all. Those bananas and that Krusteaz pancake mix, they’re a match made in heaven. Or at least, a match made in my kitchen. And that’s good enough for me. And I bet it’ll be good enough for you, too.

There ya have it. My secret to makin’ the best Krusteaz pancakes ever. It ain’t fancy, it ain’t complicated, but it sure is delicious. Just good ol’ fashioned home cookin’, with a little somethin’ extra. And that somethin’ extra is bananas. Don’t forget the bananas! You can thank me later. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I think I hear my grandkids askin’ for seconds. Gotta go flip some more of them banana pancakes! They sure do love ’em, and I bet you will, too. This is the best way to have them.
