I heard some folks talking ’bout this thing called “strawberry cheesecake lush with golden oreos“. Sounds fancy, right? But it ain’t that hard to make, I tell ya. It’s just some sweet stuff all mixed together, real good for a hot summer day. No need for that oven, neither!
First thing, ya gotta get them golden oreos. Not the black ones, mind ya, the golden kind. They’re like sunshine in a cookie, I always say. Then you gotta smash ’em up good. Like you’re mad at ’em! I use a rolling pin, but anything heavy will do. Just put ’em in a bag and whack ’em good.
- Golden Oreos, gotta have ’em
- Sugar, the white kind
- Butter, gotta be melted
Mix them crushed oreos with some melted butter and some sugar. Just a little sugar, we don’t want it too sweet, ya know? Then you press that all down in a pan. That’s the bottom, the crust we call it. Some folks use them graham crackers, but I like the golden oreos better. They just taste better, got that extra something, ya know?
Then comes the strawberry part. You need some strawberries, the frozen kind is fine. Don’t need to go pickin’ ’em fresh unless you want to. I used to pick ’em in the field, but my back ain’t what it used to be. Anyway, you gotta mix them strawberries with some cornstarch. I don’t know what cornstarch is, exactly, but it makes things thick, like gravy.
- Frozen strawberries, thawed out a bit
- Cornstarch, that white powder stuff
- Lemon juice, just a little squeeze
Now, for the creamy part. This is where that cheesecake comes in. You need cream cheese, the kind in the little block. And some of that sweet milk, the kind in the can. Condensed milk, they call it. It’s thick and sweet, like honey almost. You gotta mix that cream cheese with that sweet milk. I use a big spoon, but some folks use them fancy mixers. Don’t matter, long as it gets all mixed up good.
You gotta add a little lemon juice to that cream cheese mix, too. Just a little, gives it a little zing. And some vanilla. Vanilla makes everything taste better, I always say. It’s like magic in a bottle. Then you beat in some eggs, one at a time. Make sure them eggs ain’t cold, though. Let ’em sit out a bit before ya use ’em. Cold eggs don’t mix in as good, they say.
- Cream cheese, softened up
- Sweetened condensed milk, that’s the stuff in the can
- Lemon juice, just a splash
- Vanilla, makes everything better
- Eggs, gotta have ’em
So now ya got your oreo crust, your strawberry stuff, and your cheesecake mix. You gotta put it all together now. Pour some of that cheesecake mix over the oreo crust. Then spoon some of that strawberry stuff on top. Keep doing that, layer by layer, until it’s all used up.
Some folks make a pudding layer, too. That yellow stuff, vanilla pudding I think it’s called. You can add that in if you want, but I think it’s good enough without it. It’s all about what you like, I reckon.
Then you gotta put that whole thing in the fridge. Let it sit there for a few hours, or even overnight. It needs to get cold and firm, like jello almost. That’s the hardest part, waiting for it to be ready!
When it’s all set, you can cut it into squares and eat it. It’s real pretty, with the red strawberries and the white cheesecake and the golden oreos. Looks like something you’d see in a fancy magazine, but it ain’t hard to make. Even an old lady like me can do it!
This strawberry cheesecake lush is a real crowd-pleaser. Everyone loves it. My grandkids, they always ask for it when they come to visit. It’s good for potlucks, too. You take this to a potluck, and everyone will be asking for the recipe. But it ain’t no secret recipe, just some simple stuff mixed together.

So there ya have it, strawberry cheesecake lush with golden oreos. It’s a mouthful to say, but it sure is good to eat. And don’t let that fancy name fool ya, it’s just good old-fashioned sweet stuff. Give it a try sometime, you won’t be sorry. It’s a real treat, I tell ya. That and the price of eggs being what it is these days, might as well treat yourself to something nice. A little sweet never hurt nobody.
