Oh man, you won’t believe what I went through trying to find those Keebler Fudge Sandwich cookies. I’ve always loved those things, and one day, I got this massive craving for them. So, I headed out to my local grocery store, fully expecting to grab a pack or two.

I searched high and low, aisle after aisle, but they were nowhere to be found! I even asked a store employee, who told me they hadn’t seen them in ages. That’s when it hit me – maybe they were discontinued.

My heart sank a little, but I wasn’t ready to give up yet. I decided to do some digging online. I scoured forums and read through old articles, and that’s where I found out that, yes, those cookies are pretty much gone. They were replaced by Nabisco’s fudge cookies line in 2016, which is kinda like Keebler’s Fudge Shoppe brand.

I also stumbled upon some info about other discontinued Keebler cookies, like Magic Middles and Danish Wedding cookies, which are also no longer in production. I guess it’s true what they say – all good things must come to an end.

Trying Alternatives

  • Some folks online were saying that Dare fudge cookies are a good substitute for the old Fudgetown cookies. They even suggested that Fudgetown might have become the all-chocolate E.L. Fudge, which I thought was interesting.
  • I even saw people talking about Keebler Fudge Stripes cookies, but those are different from the sandwich ones I was craving. From what I gathered, two of those cookies have about 19g of carbs and 6g of fat.

So, after accepting that my beloved Keebler Fudge Sandwich cookies were gone, I decided to try out some alternatives. I picked up a pack of those Nabisco Fudgee-O cookies and some Stella D’oro ones, just to see if they could fill the void. They were okay, but honestly, nothing beats the original.

It’s a bummer when a favorite treat gets discontinued. I learned that Keebler’s cookie line was sold to Ferrero SpA in 2019, so maybe that’s why things changed. I also found out that the “E.L.” in E.L. Fudge stands for “Everybody Loves,” which is pretty cute.

Anyway, that’s my story of trying to find those Keebler Fudge Sandwich cookies. It was a bit of a rollercoaster, but I guess it’s all part of life. You win some, you lose some, right?
