Okay, so the other day I was getting ready to make a big batch of my famous chocolate chip cookies. The recipe calls for a specific amount of chocolate chips, and I had this 18-ounce bag sitting in my pantry. But, of course, my recipe uses cups, not ounces. So, I needed to figure out: 18 oz of chocolate chips is how many cups?
The Great Chocolate Chip Conversion
First, I grabbed my phone and did a quick search. you know. I found some mixed answers!
- Some folks were saying it was way less, like under two cups.
- Other answers I think seem corect.
To double-check,And I needed to get baking!

I remembered that a little reseach,I find 2 oz is about 1/3 cup. that mean:
- 2 oz = 1/3 cup
- 10 oz = 5/3 cups, which is 1 2/3 cups
- so easy to know 18 oz of chocolate chips is a little more than 2 cups.
The Sweet Result
I finally, I decided to just go with the 2 1/4 cups * you know what? The cookies turned out perfect!
So, there you have it! Next time you’re staring down a bag of chocolate chips and wondering about the cup equivalent, just remember my little experiment. 2 1/4 cups for 18 ounces of chocolate chips. You’re all set for baking greatness!
