Okay, folks, gather ’round, let me tell you about this little kitchen adventure I had the other day. I’ve been trying to eat a bit healthier, you know, the usual. But I’ve got this sweet tooth that just won’t quit. So, I thought, why not try to make something that satisfies my craving but isn’t loaded with sugar and junk? That’s where this strawberry frozen yogurt idea came in.

First off, I grabbed some frozen strawberries from the freezer. I always keep a bag in there, they’re super handy. Then, I pulled out some vanilla Greek yogurt. I like the Greek stuff because it’s thicker and has more protein. With just these two things in hand, I was ready to start.

Now, I recently got one of those Ninja Creami machines. Heard a lot about them, and I figured this was a perfect time to give it a whirl. I dumped a cup of the yogurt into the Creami container. Then I added about the same of the frozen strawberries.

  • Blend it up: Before putting it in the Creami, I decided to blend it up a little. I thought it will make it easier for the machine to process. I used a regular blender for this, just to break down the strawberries a bit and mix them into the yogurt.
  • Freeze it good: After blending, I put the mixture back into the Creami container. I read somewhere that you should press a piece of parchment paper on top to prevent ice crystals. So, I did just that. Then, into the freezer it went. They say you need to freeze it for at least 6 hours, but I just left it overnight.
  • Creami time: The next day, I took it out and let it sit on the counter for about 20-30 minutes. You don’t want it rock solid when you put it in the Creami. Once it was a bit softer, I popped it into the machine.

Here’s the thing about the Creami – it’s not like making ice cream. It’s quicker, especially with something like this that’s already pretty thick. I just ran it through one cycle, and boom, it was done.

The Result

I scooped it out, and man, it looked good. A nice pink color, creamy texture, and it smelled like fresh strawberries. I took a spoonful, and it was delicious! Just the right amount of sweetness from the strawberries, and the tanginess from the yogurt was perfect. It really hit the spot.

So, there you have it. A simple, healthy, and tasty treat made with just two ingredients and a little help from the Ninja Creami. If you’re looking for a way to satisfy your sweet tooth without going overboard, give this strawberry frozen yogurt a try. It’s a winner in my book!
