Okay, so I needed to figure out how many ounces are in 2 cups of chocolate chips for this recipe I was trying. I’m not a huge baker, so I don’t have this kind of stuff memorized. My first thought was, “I’ll just Google it!”
I typed in something like “ounces to cups chocolate chips” and quickly found out that 1 cup of chocolate chips equals 6 ounces. That was easy enough to remember.
My Simple Calculation
- 1 cup = 6 ounces
Since my recipe called for 2 cups, I just did some quick math in my head: 6 ounces/cup 2 cups = 12 ounces.

The “Aha!” Moment
I then remembered I bought a standard bag Chocolate Chips from shop, Checked bag and it said 12 ounces. I suddenly realized the standard bag is designed to be 2 cups! I measured out the chocolate chips using my kitchen scale to be sure, and there you go!
So, basically, a regular 12-ounce bag of chocolate chips is exactly what I needed for my 2 cups. Baking can be tricky, but this little conversion was a breeze!
