Alright, so today I’m gonna talk about something that’s been bugging me for a while – those cherry tomatoes I chucked in the freezer a while back. Yeah, you heard me right, frozen cherry tomatoes. I had this grand idea to save them for later, but then I was like, “Now what?”
So, I started digging around, trying to figure out what to do with these little frozen red balls. Turns out, you can actually do quite a bit!
First, I got them out of the freezer and let them thaw for a bit. And let me tell you, they were not pretty. All mushy and squishy, definitely not something you’d want to toss in a salad. But I wasn’t giving up that easily.

Making the Sauce
- I figured, since they’re already messed up, why not turn them into a sauce? I heated up some olive oil in a pan, threw in some garlic because, you know, garlic makes everything better.
- Once the garlic was all fragrant, I dumped in the thawed tomatoes.
- Stirred it around, added a pinch of salt, some pepper, and a dash of oregano. You can totally play around with the herbs and spices, whatever floats your boat.
- Then I just let it simmer on low heat. The longer you simmer, the more the water evaporates, and the thicker your sauce gets.
And guess what? It actually turned out pretty darn good! The sauce was tangy and had that fresh tomato flavor, even though the tomatoes started as frozen. I was pretty proud of myself, not gonna lie.
I also found out that these little guys are great for other stuff too. Like, you can throw them into soups or stews to add some extra flavor. Or mix them with roasted veggies. I even tried putting them on some toasted bread with a little cheese, and boom! Instant bruschetta.
So yeah, if you ever find yourself with a bunch of frozen cherry tomatoes, don’t panic! There’s plenty you can do with them. Just remember, they won’t be the same as fresh, but they can still be delicious in their own way. It’s all about getting a little creative in the kitchen. And hey, if I can do it, so can you! Trust me, it’s easier than you think, and you might just surprise yourself with what you can whip up. Just don’t be afraid to experiment a little. After all, that’s half the fun, right?
