Okay, so, I had these bananas getting all brown and spotty, and a bunch of strawberries that were about to go bad, and I was like, what can I make with these? I didn’t want to just throw them away, you know? So I started looking around for some easy dessert recipes that use both.

First thing I did was mash up those bananas. I used a fork, ’cause who needs to get the mixer dirty for a couple of bananas? Then I sliced up the strawberries. I kept a few aside to make the final thing look pretty, but the rest went into a bowl. I thought, “Hey, parfaits could be good!” So, I grabbed some yogurt from the fridge, vanilla flavor, and some granola I had in the cupboard. I layered the yogurt, mashed bananas, and strawberries in a glass. Topped it with granola, then did it all over again until the glass was full. Stuck a few strawberry slices on top to make it look fancy. And boom, dessert was ready! It was pretty good, actually. The sweetness of the bananas and strawberries went well with the creamy yogurt and crunchy granola.

Making Frozen Treats

But then I was like, “What else can I do?” It’s getting warmer, so something frozen sounded nice. I remembered seeing somewhere about dipping bananas in yogurt and freezing them. So, I cut the rest of the bananas into chunks, dipped them in the same vanilla yogurt, and then rolled them in the granola. I laid them out on a tray lined with parchment paper and popped them in the freezer. For the strawberries, I just dipped them in yogurt and froze them as is. Figured they’d be like little frozen strawberry bites.

  • Mashed bananas and sliced strawberries for parfaits
  • Cut bananas into chunks for freezing
  • Dip banana chunks and whole strawberries in yogurt
  • Roll yogurt-covered banana chunks in granola

A couple of hours later, I checked on them. The banana chunks were solid, and the strawberries were like little popsicles. They were a hit! Super easy to make, and you can just grab one from the freezer when you want something sweet and cold.

Honestly, I was just messing around in the kitchen, but these turned out pretty good. Next time, I might try different yogurt flavors or maybe even add some chocolate chips. But for now, I’ve got a bunch of these frozen treats in the freezer, and they’re not going to last long!
