Okay, so I’ve been seeing these candy cakes all over my feed, and I finally decided to give it a shot. I’m not a baker, like, at all, but this looked pretty doable, even for me. Here’s how it went down!
Gathering the Goods
First things first, I needed stuff. I grabbed:
- A bunch of candies. I went kinda overboard – gummy bears, sour straws, chocolate bars, lollipops, the works.
- Cake rounds. Yeah, I cheated and bought pre-made ones. No shame.
- Frosting. Lots of it. I got vanilla, but you do you.
- Some sprinkles, because, sprinkles.
- Skewers or toothpicks (for sticking stuff on).
Building the Beast
I started by slapping some frosting between the cake layers. I mean, I wasn’t dainty about it. Just got it in there. Then, I frosted the whole thing. Again, not pretty, but covered. That’s the key.

Then came the fun part! I started sticking candies all over that bad boy. The bigger stuff, like the chocolate bars, I broke into smaller pieces. I used the skewers to help keep some of the taller candies standing up. I basically just went wild, sticking things wherever they looked good. No real plan, just pure, sugary chaos.
The Grand Finale
Once I had all the candies on, I threw on some sprinkles. Like, a LOT of sprinkles. Because why not? And that was it! It was… a lot. But honestly, it was pretty awesome.
It definitely wasn’t perfect. It was messy, and maybe a little (okay, a lot) over the top, but it was MINE. And it tasted amazing. All that sugar? Yeah, I was buzzing for hours.
Would I do it again? Probably. It was super easy and a ton of fun. Plus, who doesn’t love a mountain of candy? I have zero baking skill. If I can make it, believe me, anybody can make it! Just do it.
