Okay, so I’ve been seeing these “whip shots” all over the internet and I finally decided to give them a try. I mean, boozy whipped cream? Count me in! It looked pretty simple, so I figured, why not?
First, I gathered my stuff. You’ll need:
- Heavy whipping cream (the good stuff, don’t skimp!)
- Powdered sugar (because, duh, sweet!)
- Your favorite booze (I went with some coffee liqueur, seemed like a good match)
- A hand mixer or stand mixer (unless you want a serious arm workout)
- A bowl (preferably chilled, it helps things whip up better)
The Whipping Action
I started by pouring the cold heavy cream into my chilled bowl. I’m not gonna lie, I didn’t measure anything perfectly. I just eyeballed it – probably about a cup or so?
Then, I added a few spoonfuls of powdered sugar. Again, no precise measurements here. I just added enough until it looked… right. Sweet enough, you know?
Next up, the fun part: the booze! I poured in a generous splash of the coffee liqueur. Maybe a little too generous, but hey, no regrets.
I grabbed my hand mixer and started whipping. At first, it just looked like sweet, boozy cream soup. But I kept at it. Slowly but surely, it started to thicken up.
I kept whipping until it formed those nice, stiff peaks. You know, the kind that hold their shape when you lift the beaters. It took a few minutes, but it was worth it.
And that’s it! Seriously, it was that easy. I dolloped some of my freshly made boozy whipped cream onto a mug of hot chocolate, and let me tell you… it was amazing. I felt like a genius. A very tipsy genius.
Next time, I’m thinking of trying it with some vanilla vodka and putting it on top of some strawberries. Or maybe some Bailey’s Irish Cream on top of… well, anything! The possibilities are endless, really.
