Okay, let’s get cooking! Here’s my blog post about making that super easy and tasty Chicken Pot Pie with Crescent Rolls on top:
So, I’ve been seeing this chicken pot pie recipe with crescent rolls floating around, and, honestly, it looked way too easy to be good. But I was in a hurry one night, needed something the kids would actually eat, and figured, why not? Turns out, it’s a winner!
Getting Started
First, I grabbed my ingredients. Nothing fancy here, folks. I already had some cooked chicken leftover from a rotisserie chicken (score!), so that saved me a step. I also grabbed:

- Frozen mixed vegetables: Because who has time to chop all those veggies?
- Cream of chicken soup: The canned stuff, yep.
- Crescent rolls: The refrigerated kind in the tube.
- Some Spices: I like garlic,pepper.
Putting It All Together
I preheated my oven to 375°F, I think it’s the perfect *, I mixed the chicken, the frozen veggies, and the soup together in a bowl. The vegetables have already been frozen, and the soup has salt, so I didn’t add anything more, just threw it all in.I like things simple. Spread the mixture into a baking dish,I use a 9×13 inch baking dish.
Next, I add some pepper and garlic, this step all depends on yourself.
Now for the fun part! I unrolled the crescent roll dough and just laid it over the top of the chicken mixture. I didn’t even bother separating the triangles, I just plopped the whole sheet on there. It doesn’t have to be perfect, remember? We’re going for easy here.
Bake and Enjoy!
I popped the dish into the oven and baked it for about 20-25 minutes. You want the crescent rolls to be golden brown and puffy, and the filling to be bubbly. Mine took a little longer, maybe 25 minutes, but every oven is different.
And that’s it! Seriously. I let it cool for a few minutes (because burning your mouth on hot filling is not fun), and then served it up. The kids loved it, I loved it, and it was so ridiculously simple to make. This is definitely going into my regular rotation of “I need dinner on the table fast” meals!
