Okay, so I’ve been seeing this “cottage cheese cookie dough” thing all over my feed, and I finally caved. I’m a sucker for anything cookie dough, but I’m also trying to, you know, not eat a whole tub of the real stuff. This recipe uses oat flour, which I always have on hand for my morning pancakes, so I figured, why not?
Getting Started
First, I grabbed my ingredients. I already had the oat flour, like I said. I also needed cottage cheese (obviously), some maple syrup for sweetness, vanilla extract because, duh, and a little bit of salt to balance things out. Oh, and chocolate chips! Can’t forget those.
Mixing it Up
I dumped the cottage cheese into my blender. I used my trusty old blender. It’s not fancy, but it gets the job done. Then I poured in the maple syrup and vanilla, and sprinkled in the salt. I blended everything until it was super smooth. Honestly, this part was kind of mesmerizing. It looked like I was making a milkshake or something.

Once it was all smooth, I poured the mixture into a bowl and stirred in the oat flour. I did this gradually, adding a little bit at a time and mixing it in with a spoon. I didn’t want it to get too thick too fast.
The Best Part
Finally, I folded in the chocolate chips. I used mini ones because I like how they distribute better, but you do you. I stirred everything together until it looked like, well, cookie dough! It was a little softer than regular cookie dough, but still totally scoopable.
The Taste Test
- I may add a bit more maple syrup next time for extra sweetness.
- it’s surprisingly good! It definitely satisfies that cookie dough craving.
I grabbed a spoon and dug in. And…it was good! Seriously. It didn’t taste exactly like cookie dough, but it was close enough. The texture was creamy and smooth, with a little bit of chewiness from the oat flour. And the chocolate chips, of course, made everything better.
So, there you have it. My cottage cheese cookie dough experiment. It was easy, relatively healthy, and pretty darn tasty. I’ll definitely be making this again.
